Lubwama early strike guides URA past Patongo United

URA FC edged Northern Regional League side Patongo United 1-0 to cruise to the Round of 32 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Joshua Lubwama Leti scored the all important goal that separated the two sides in a closely contested encounter at the Gang Kal Grounds in Agago district.

Lubwama finished brilliantly from a Nelson Senkatuka well delivered corner kick as early as the 6th minute of the game.

The slim victory comes as the Tax Collectors are enduring a seven match scoreless streak in the Uganda Premier League.

The Hussein Mbalangu coached side joined the other seven Uganda Premier League sides which managed to get Round of 64 victories on Friday evening.

SC Villa beat Pallisa Hospital FC 2-1 in Pallisa, Police FC beat Mairye United 3-0 while Maroons beat Paidha United 2-1.

Lugazi FC beat Kisugu United 2-1, Kitara FC edged Obule Earthquake 1-0 whereas Entebbe UPPC beat Ombachi Pride 1-0 in Koboko.
