The organizers of the Pepsi University Football league have suspended Soroti University from this season’s campaign.
Soroti University has been suspended for fielding impersonators in their match against YMCA Comprehensive Institute.
YMCA petitioned the UFL claiming that Soroti University had played two players who were not licensed for the match that was played on 26th October, 2025.
According to the investigations held by the UFL, it was established that Bambaga Joseph and Osaka David Success were impersonators and not registered students of the University.
UFL Disciplinary Committee has suspended Soroti University for two seasons from the University Football league.
The University appealed the decision and acknowledged the mistake. The Appeals Committee has reduced the suspension to one season covering the 2025/26 term.
Soroti University will however pay a fine of Shs500,000 for bringing the league into disrepute and has also been ordered to pay Shs300,000 to cover the petition filed by YMCA.
