SC Villa center back Arnold Odong has signed a new three year contract with the club, according to FUFA TV’s The Sportlight Show.
Odong’s initial contract came to an end last month and SC Villa reacted by awarding him a new one.
The towering center back joined the Jogoos in 2023 and subsequently established himself as a very important member in the team.
He played an integral role as SC Villa won the 2023/24 league title playing 25 games and scoring two goals.
Odong played 24 games for Villa last season and consequently earned himself a place in the Uganda Cranes squad that featured in the CHAN tournament.
However, the former MUBS defender has been sidelined by a reported back injury this season and is yet to feature for the Zeljko Kovacevic coached side.
The 17 time League champions have however lost midfielder Tony Atukunda to NEC FC as earlier reported by this website.
Villa will kick off their UPL second round with a visit to URA FC on Valentine’s Day at Hamz Stadium Nakivubo.
