NEC FC defender Ibrahim Kiyemba has signed a new two year contract with the club.
Kiyemba joined NEC in January 2024 from Gaddafi FC (Entebbe UPPC FC) on a two year contract which was expiring last month.
“ We are delighted to announce that Ibrahim Kiyemba has signed a new contract with NEC FC, committing his long-term future to the club until 2028.” Reads a statement from NEC FC.
The experienced defender has proved as one of the most senior and dependable players at the club and has often worn the team’s armband.
Kiyemba has played all the 15 games NEC has played this season underlining his importance at the Kaddu Badru coached side.
Kaddu emphasizes that Kiyemba is one of the exceptional players in his squad.
“It is important to reward those who play wholeheartedly for the club. Ibrahim is one of those exceptional players whose attitude is spot on, every day, every training session, every match. We’re excited to have him staying with us.” Kaddu says through the club’s website.
Kiyemba has previously turned out for Vipers SC, SC Villa, Lweza FC (now defunct) and Wakiso Giants among others.
NEC have already signed Muhammad Ssenoga Kagawa, Richard Basangwa, Hakim Wandera, Rashid Kawawa, Tony Atukunda, Pius Obuya and Juma Mutebi.
Their immediate UPL encounter will be against KCCA FC at Lugogo on Friday 13th February.
