Ssingo have emerged as favourites to land coach Felix Ssekabuuza’s signature, our sources understand that Gomba are also interested in the tactician.
This website has established that Ssingo are pursuing Ssekabuuza’s signature ahead of this year’s Masaza Cup and are ‘leading the race’ ahead of other suitors Gomba.
Ssekabuuza guided Buweekula to their maiden Masaza Cup trophy last year, beating Ssingo 1-0 in the final that was played at Nakivubo Stadium.
He has previously served at Ssingo as an assistant coach during Shafiq Bisaso’s reign and is now in line for a possible return.He has also worked at Busiro and Gomba in the Masaza Cup competition.
Ssekabuuza recently helped non-league side Football Classroom to the round of 32 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup where they will meet former UPL side Onduparaka FC in Arua.
Last year, Ssingo was under the stewardship of Basito Ssemuyaba who played a vital role in guiding them to the final.
Ssingo are two time Masaza Cup champions following their triumphs in 2015 and 2018, both coming during Bisaso’s reign.
