KCCA FC returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win over BUL FC during their league contest under the lights of Lugogo on Wednesday.
It was a much needed victory for under pressure co-coaches Brian Ssenyondo and Jackson Magera whose side had lost two consecutive games against Entebbe UPPC and NEC FC.
Reports indicated that KCCA hierarchy had given Ssenyondo and Magera three games to resolve the situation and earlier in the week they beefed up their technical team with former Uganda Cranes right back Simeone Masaba.
Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Herbert Achayi scored the two goals for KCCA to cool the pressure on the technical team.
Teenager Denis Ssewagudde had equalized for BUL in the first half but his goal could only turn into a consolation.
Ahimbisibwe fired the Kasasiro Boys into the lead in the 31st minute heading home a Saidi Mayanja quality cross.
Moments later, Achayi denied Karim Ndugwa who was face to face with goalkeeper Mutwalib Mugolofa but the left back made a timely block.
BUL eventually got the equaliser through a sensational Ssewagudde free kick at the stroke of halftime.
Three minutes after the halftime breather, Achayi restored KCCA’s lead after being fed by Ashiraf Mugume.
The 13-time league champions held on to smile to their first victory in the second round and are currently fourth with 33 points while BUL is eighth on 20 points.
