SC Villa will on Sunday, 1st March present a four year accountability report at the Annual General Meeting scheduled in the Kampala Suburb of Kulambiro-Ntinda.

The AGM will address roadmap to the pending presidential elections which will probably be the biggest item on the agenda as well as key governance and financial questions.

Current club president Omar Ahmed Mandela, who returned to the helm in November 2021 after his official departure in 2004, is set to return with Farouk Meywa also ready to take him on.

While addressing the media on Saturday at Asan Kasingye, the club’s spokesperson at Sixth Street in Kampala, revealed that the club administration will present the four year accountability report.

“We are to present the four year accountability report at the annual general meeting tomorrow. We are to also reveal what has been done by the current club administration during the years.”

Kasingye also urged all fully registered members who are interested in leadership positions to come and pick nomination forms at the AGM.

“I call upon all fully registered members interested in contesting for leadership positions to attend the meeting and pick nomination forms.” Said Kasingye

The biggest question will be on the Shs3.2 billion compensation received from the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) for the former Villa Park grounds.

Earlier this year, trustees chairman Gerald Ssendaula revealed that the compensation, invested as a fixed deposit, had grown to Shs4.5 billion and that board plans to purchase land, possibly along Entebbe Road, after elections set for within two weeks.

At the AGM, the current administration will also address the successes as well as the challenges faced during their four year tenure.

Meanwhile, SC Villa has also launched its maiden Souvenir Magazine that documents the club’s 50 years of existence.

SC Villa founded in 1975 is the most successful football club in the country having won 17 league titles and 9 Uganda Cup trophies. This season the club is still in the hunt for a Cup double, having progressed to the Uganda Cup round of 16 and are third on the UPL log, four points below leaders Vipers SC.
