Mbale Heroes 2-1 CATDA FC
Mbale Heroes rallied from a goal down to edge fellow relegation strugglers Catda FC 2-1 in the FUFA Big League at the Mbale Municipal Stadium.
Coming into the encounter Mbale Heroes were sitting at the bottom of the table and needed a victory against one of their direct opponents.
Catda who were in search of their first win in the last seven, took a first half lead courtesy of Hadad Kambugu’s 38th minute goal.
Mbale Heroes fought back and won three points thanks to second half goals from forwards Gerald Hamya and Hakiramu Muzanyi.
The much needed victory took Mbale Heroes’ tally to 17 points and elevated them from the bottom of the table.
Catda who are now winless in the most recent eight FUFA Big League games, sit bottom on the table with 16 points accumulated from 17 games played.
Mbale Heroes will visit Wakiso Giants, another relegation threatened side in their next game on March 8th while Catda will host promotion hopefuls Paidha Black Angels on the same day.
