A section of SC Villa fans demonstrated over the refundable nomination fee for presidential candidates interested in taking over the club’s leadership.
The fans marched from Mengo market to the headquarters of Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA house) to express their frustrations regarding the club’s elections.
The fans called for fairness ahead of the forthcoming election and asked FUFA boss Moses Hassim Magogo, who is also a registered SC Villa fans to intervene.
Due to heavy rains some fans left before Police arrived moments later and arrested over 15 at the nearby Rubis Petrol station and Mengo Market.
SC Villa registered fans will go to the polls on 22nd March to determine who takes helm for the next four years. Incumbent Omar Mandela, Farouk Meywa, Denis Mbidde Ssebugwawo and Simeon Buleezi are the four individuals who have expressed interest and are expected to return forms on Saturday, 7th March 2026.
Joseph Muguluma Mbazzi has declined that he won’t be taking part in the process which he claimed is non-transparent.
