SC Villa were once again left frustrated after another controversial offside call in the 1-0 defeat to Police FC on Tuesday at Kira Road Arena.

The Jogoos came into the game after a goalless stalemate with their arch rivals Express FC last Saturday in which they had Hassan Mubiru’s goal wrongly disallowed by now suspended assistant referee Immaculate Ongiera.

Against the Cops, trailing by a Lawrence Tezikya seventh minute goal, the Jogoos thought they had levelled matters through Frank Ssebufu in the 15 minute but was flagged offside.

The Video showed that the striker was onside when he slotted past Police FC goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga.

Police also had a goal disallowed in the first half through Bedia Ikamba but was disallowed following a foul on Villa defender Simon Ssemayange.

Farouk Musisi came close to restoring parity in the 24th minute but his header off a David Owori cross kissed the frame.

The Cops had gone three games without a victory until Tuesday’s win over the record league leaders.

Villa pressed for the leveller in the second half but couldn’t breakdown a resilient Police defense who got their revenge over the Jogoos.

Police were also winless over Villa in the previous ten league matches, with the Jogoos managing three and seven games having ended in draws.

Victory takes Police to fifth position with 35 points while SC Villa remains fourth with 38 points in 19 games
