Queretaro 0-1 Atlas Femenil

Juliet Nalukenge came off the bench to score the all important goal that guided Atlas Femenil to a 1-0 win over Queretaro in the Mexican Liga Femenil.

Nalukenge came off the bench in 76th minute to replace Karen Flores and broke the deadlock seven minutes later with a left footed effort following a well orchestrated move.

The Crested Cranes striker has had playing time hard to come her way lately but her cameo contributions illuminate her role of a game changer when needed by the Guadalajara based club.

While Nalukenge continues her integration into the Atlas team and adaptation to the Mexican Liga, she has proved a prized asset to the club.

The important winning goal was also her second this season having struck a late winner in a hard-fought 4-3 win over PUMAS UNAM in October last year.

By and large, the club has labored to get positive results this year in a rough spell that has only seen two wins in the 11 games played since January.

Nalukenge’s goal elevated Atlas to the 13th place on the Mexican Liga Femenil table of the Clausura Phase with eight points from 11 games played.

Atlas Femenil will return to action in the wee hours of Tuesday 17th March with a home duel against table leaders Monterrey Rayadas.
