Uganda Premier League table leaders Vipers SC re-established their lead to four points with a hard-fought win over Calvary FC on Saturday at Kitende.

The Venoms needed Gusto Mulongo’s late strike to overcome Calvary’s resilience under the lights of Kitende.

Mulongo who replaced debutant Glodi Beyuku Munsi found the back of the net in the 87th minute of the game after being fed by another substitute Yunus Sentamu.

The Venoms needed to maximize points to extend their lead at the top to four points following Kitara’s 4-0 thrashing of Buhimba on Friday.

They came into the contest after back to back late wins against Mbarara City and UPDF FC.

Victory over Calvary sees the Venoms move to 50 points while Kitara is second on 46 points. Calvary on the other hand remains bottom placed and still winless this term.
