NEC FC and Lugazi FC will face off in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 contest on Tuesday at the MTN Omondi Stadium.
Simon Peter Mugerwa’s Lugazi travels to Lugogo seeking to upset NEC in the early kick of the double header at Lugogo.
NEC FC needed a Joseph Dhata brace to overcome UPDF in the previous round.
Dhata will however miss the encounter through injury. Emmanuel Ajo and Pius Obuya are also out injured.
Lugazi on the other side defied all the odds to eliminate Police FC 2-1 at Kiira Road Arena with Umar Kyebatala scoring a brace.
The Cops had filed a petition claiming Kyebatala had featured for Football Classroom during the preliminary rounds but Lugazi won it.
Badru Kaddu’s NEC are unbeaten in 13 games across all competitions since their 2-1 over KCCA FC in December last year. The Bugolobi based side are 2024 Stanbic Uganda Cup runners-up.
