Kitara duo to miss Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 encounter against Bunyaruguru

Kitara FC head coach Wasswa Bbosa has confirmed that his side will be without the duo of Patrick Henry Kaddu and Muhammad Shaban for their Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 contest against FUFA Big League entity Bunyaruguru United on Wednesday at Butema.

Bbosa stated that the 2024 competition winners will miss the services of the pair due to respective injuries and also confirmed the return of Jimmy Kalema.

“ Kaddu and Shaban are ruled out through injury but the good news is that Jimmy Kalema is back from a long term injury than has seen him miss several matches.” Said Bbosa who also revealed that his side won’t underestimate Bunyaruguru

“We don’t underrate Bunyaruguru united, they have coaches who can organise teams but this is our home , we want to win and move to the next level.”Said Bbosa.

Kitara FC eliminated Entebbe UPPC 2-0 at the round of 32 stage while Bunyaruguru United overcame Amus College 1-0 to reach the round of 16 stage.

Meanwhile, the round of 16 stage will resume on Tuesday as NEC FC takes on Lugazi FC while KCCA FC hosts Onduparaka FC with both matches at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

Wednesday will see Kitara FC take on Bunyaruguru United at The Royals Park in Butema. On the same day, last year’s winners Vipers SC will welcome Iganga United FC at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

The action continues on Thursday when SC Villa hosts Maroons FC under the floodlights.

Friday will conclude the round of 16 with two matches. URA FC will take on Tapoh FC while Express FC faces Red Devo FC at Hamz Stadium. Happy Boyz Kagaba became the first team to reach the last eight followin their shootout win over Six O’clock on Monday.
