The quarterfinal stage draw of the Pepsi University Football League has been conducted on Friday at Kati Kati Restaurant in Lugogo.
The draw was graced by the AUUS First Vice President Martha Soigi, who is also the Sports Tutor at Kampala University, alongside Red Rhino boss Obal Atubo and League Manager Anthony Tumwesigye.
During the draw the qualified eight teams were divided into two pots with Pot A comprising of group winners with the highest number of points while Pot B included three runners-up and the group winner with comparatively fewer points.
Pot A had Kampala University, Muteesa I Royal University, Ndejje University and YMCA Comprehensive. Pot B had St Lawrence University, Kumi University, Uganda Martyrs University and Bugema University.
According to the organisers, teams in Pot B will host the first leg fixtures of the quarterfinal ties.
Two-time champions Kampala University, who topped Group A with 13 points, were paired against Bugema University while defending champions Uganda Martyrs University will battle Muteesa I Royal University.
Three-time runners up St Lawrence University will lock horns with Ndejje University in a repeat of last season’s quarterfinal clash, whereas debutants Kumi University will entertain YMCA Comprehensive in the other quarterfinal.
The first legs fixtures are slated for Tuesday, 24th to Friday 27th with the return legs set for the following week to determine who advances to the semifinal stage.
