Former NEC FC goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan is set to join the SC Villa youth system, following his retirement from active football.
According to Kawowo Sports, Ochan will serve as the goalkeeping coach of the SC Villa youth and reserve teams.
It should be noted that the record Uganda Premier League champions appointed Nebojsa Kapoor as the head of youth and reserve teams.
Ochan is former SC Villa goalkeeper where he featured during Mike Mutebi’s reign in 2011/12 season.
The retired goalkeeper is currently on the organising committee that oversees the pilot Academies League in Buganda and Kampala regions.
Besides Villa and NEC, Ochan featured for Bloemfontein Celtic, defunct Victoria university, Kabwe in Zambia warriors, AFC Leopards in Kenya and KCCA FC where he spent three different spells.
At KCCA, he won two Uganda Premier League titles in 2015-16 and 2016-2017 seasons and also guided the now defunct Sports Club Victoria University to the CECAFA Nile Basin Cup in 2014.
Ochan also won the Uganda Cup in 2016-2017 season with KCCA.
For the Uganda Cranes, Ochan has 17 caps and featured at two CHAN championships 2014 (South Africa) and 2018 (Morocco).
