Kitende off for 3rd consecutive CAF schools Championships

Uganda’s representatives (St Mary’s SS Kitende) at the CAF Africa Schools championship were flagged off on Tuesday 31st-March at St.Mary’s Stadium Kitende.

The team that comprises of 20 athletes and six coaches was flagged off by the commissioner for Physical Education and Sports Rev.Canon Dr.Duncans Mugumya.

Justus Mugisha, the President USSSA, applauded St Mary’s SS Kitende for the consistency in the competitions,

“A special applause to St.Marys SS Kitende for their consistency in all the sports competitions. We just wish the very best we know they will make us proud as they have always done.”

FUFA CEO Edgar Watson Ssubi, who represented the FUFA president, advised the athletes to give it all whenever a chance comes their way,

“I would like to appreciate Mr. Justus Mugisha for always lobbying for Uganda, Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa’s efforts, and love for football will always be appreciated,”

“To you the athletes you are representing Uganda so you should not underestimate time do your best as your time is now.”

Canon Mugumya, who is also part of the travelling delegation, thanked all those that have supported school sports,

“I congratulate you all for this milestone as well as thank all those that have supported school sports we have achieved a lot, Dr Mulindwa has worked hard towards the infrastructure development.”

“Dear athletes, kindly use this opportunity and make us proud. Uganda is behind you.”

This is the fourth edition of the CAF Africa Schools Football Championship and will take place between 2nd April to 10th of the same month in Harare Zimbabwe.
