URA FC produced a brilliant comeback from two goals down to eliminate ten-time Stanbic Uganda Cup winners KCCA FC out of the competition.

The tax collectors needed a 4-2 shootout win after a 2-2 draw in normal and extra-time during the contest played at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo on Saturday.

In normal time, Saidi Mayanja and Herbert Achai had scored for KCCA in either half before John Innocent Kisolo and Ronald Otti restored parity for the Hussein Mbalangu coached side.

URA FC’s two goals came in the final minutes of the entertaining contest at the venue that recently marked 100-years of existence.

The tax collectors goalkeeper Muhammed Ssekebba saved two penalties during the shootout while Joseph Ssemujju, captain Moses Aliro Okabo, Ronald Otti and Isma Mugulusi scored their kicks.

Left back Dissan Galiwango had his penalty saved by KCCA goalkeeper Mutwalib Mugolofa.

Joel Sserunjogi and Ashraf Mugume netted the two penalties for KCCA while Herbert Achayi and Enock Walusimbi had their kicks saved by Ssekebba.

URA joins Vipers SC who eliminated NEC FC in the semifinals of the 52nd edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Action will resume on Easter Sunday with Kitara FC taking on Express FC at Royals Park in Butema while SC Villa will travel to Happy boyz Kagaba on Monday in the final quarterfinal fixture.
