Bulemeezi Ssaza team patron Frank Mutalaga believes early preparations will be crucial for the team ahead of the 2026 Buganda Masaza Cup championship.
On Easter Sunday, Bulemeezi played a practice match against Kawempe Select that ended goalless at Kasana playground in Luweero.
Mutalaga was elated with Bulemeezi team performance and is optimistic they will win the prestigious Masaza Cup competition this year.
“We have started preparations for the 2026 Masaza Cup championship with a friendly match against Kawempe Select. I am happy with the general performance of the team and I am confident we are to compete and win the title this year.”
Mutalaga calls for more support
“I call upon everyone from Bulemeezi to support the team in terms of funds and resources. Of course, we have invested money in the team but we need more support if we are to win the championship this term.” Said Mutalaga
Bulemeezi appointed Leo Ssekamatte as their head coach for the 2026 competition with Edward Golola serving as the technical director. Last year they failed to progress past the group stage.

They are three time Masaza Cup champions having won the event in 2012, 2019 and 2023. The Buganda Kingdom organized championship is slated to kick off in June this year.
