The much hyped Uganda Premier League contest between table leaders Vipers and Kitara FC ended in a goalless stalemate on Friday at Kitende.

The two sides came into the game separated by four points and both sets of fans expected the game to live the hype.

Kitara who benefited from boardroom points over the Venoms during the first round were aiming at closing the gap while the leaders were targeting more three points to stretch their lead.

But by fulltime whistle, each team had to settle for barren stalemate under the lights of Kitende.

Both sides settled for a point apiece with Vipers moving to 51 from 22 outings while Kitara stay four point adrift of Vipers and currently on 47 points.

Vipers next visit another title rival SC Villa on Wednesday at FUFA Kadiba Stadium while Kitara travel to KCCA FC.

Meanwhile, Lugazi FC drew 1-1 with Entebbe UPPC in the other game on Friday with action resuming tomorrow as SC Villa host rivals KCCA FC.
