SC Villa fans were once again left frustrated with the match officials in their 1-1 draw with Vipers SC at FUFA Kadiba Stadium in the Uganda Premier League on Wednesday night.
Villa faithfuls were left unhappy with two decisions that went against their side in the match that was handled by Lucky Kasalirwe Razake.
Before, Hillary Mukundane headed the visitors into the lead, assistant referee wrongly awarded a corner kick to the Venoms that initially led to the goal.
The Jogoos however levelled matters through Frank Ssebuufu when he nodded home after Hassan Mubiru had dribbled past Vipers defenders before setting up Najib Yiga whose deflected cross was headed in by the giant striker for Villa’s equalizer.
Villa fans were once again left ragging when referee Kasalirwe failed to send off Enock Ssebaggala for a second bookable offense on Mubiru in the second half of the game.
This season, Villa has had officiating decisions turn against them in matches against Vipers at Kitende, their home contest against Express FC as well as the away fixture to Police FC.
Milton Karisa had a late chance to seal the victory for Vipers but David Lukwago produced a decent save as the two giant clubs settled for a stalemate.
The result is welcome at both KCCA FC and Kitara FC ahead of their Friday’s showdown at Lugogo. Vipers is now on 52 points while Villa is on 45 points in 23 games.
