Express FC registered a third consecutive win with a 1-0 win over relegation threatened UPDF FC on Wednesday at Bombo Military Grounds.
Elvis Ssekajugo’s late strike saw the Red Eagles complete a season league double over the army side having won the first round fixture at Ham Stadium, Nakivubo with the same scoreline.
It should be noted that Express went into the game with issues over unpaid players’ salaries as it was revealed by their head coach Jimmy Kintu following their win over Police FC at Nakivubo.
Despite the challenges, the Red Eagles have now won three consecutive league wins against URA FC (3-1), Police FC (3-1) and UPDF FC (1-0).
In Bombo, second half substitute Ssekajugo who replaced Mikidad Ssenyonga in the 63rd minute gave the visitors the lead in final minute of the game.
Express stays in 10th position with 29 points while UPDF stay 13th with 17 points, only two ahead of the relegation zone.
