KCCA FC will host Kitara FC in the Lugogo showdown with both sides seeking to capitalize on Vipers 1-1 draw at SC Villa on Wednesday at Kadiba.
KCCA will be aiming at regaining their mojo following a 1-0 defeat to SC Villa in their previous league fixture as well as the Uganda Cup exit at URA FC.
Co-coached by Brian Ssenyondo and Jackson Magera, the Kasasiro Boys are currently seven point behind leaders Vipers and victory will see them cut the gap to four.
Kitara on the other hand shared goalless spoils with league leaders Vipers SC in their last game at Kitende.
Five points separate the Royals from Vipers and victory at Lugogo will see them reduce the gap to two points.
Ssenyondo will be taking on his former paymasters where he won the 2024 Stanbic Uganda Cup. Rogers Mugisha, Lazaro Bwambale are also in contention to battle their former side while Umar Lutalo is out injured.
Magera remains focused on the technical execution required to stop Kitara.
“We have had a tough run in the last two games, but the focus is now on Kitara. They are a well-organised side, especially defensively, but we have worked on our finishing and how to break down compact blocks. The boys know what is at stake, and playing at home gives us the confidence to go out and get the result our fans deserve.
Kitara boss Wasswa Bbosa declared he has a fit squad with Muhammad Shaban, Emmanuel Wasswa and Kato Samuel Nemeyimana available to face their former bosses.
Bbosa confirmed that his technical team has addressed the issue of scoring as he sets sights on victory
“We didn’t score in our last league game in Kitende, we have tried to address that department ahead of tomorrow’s Uganda premier League game against KCCA FC in Lugogo”. Said Bbosa
