Uganda Premier League table leaders Vipers SC will be seeking to end KCCA FC’s title hopes when the two sides face off under the lights of Lugogo on Wednesday.

Vipers won their previous league game 3-0 against Entebbe UPPC while KCCA lost 1-0 at Calvary.

KCCA are in a must win situation if they are to keep their slim title hopes alive. They are currently seven points below Vipers whom they have not beaten since March 15th 2024.

KCCA FC’s last victory over Vipers came at Kitende with Mustafa Kizza’s late penalty goal. Since then the Venoms have managed two league wins and a draw over the Kasasiro Boys.

In the previous three meetings across all competitions between them, KCCA has failed to score against Vipers.

The Venoms won the reserve fixture at Kitende 1-0 thanks to Allan Okello’s sole strike.

Vipers will go ten points clear in case they prevail to maximum points while a win for KCCA will see them cut the gap to four points.

This will be the 28th meeting between both sides, previously Vipers has an edge having won 12, lost 7 and 8 games have ended in draws in the last 27 meetings.

Team News:

Herbert Achai is back in the squad having missed KCCA FC’s defeat at Calvary while Filbert Obenchan, Emmanuel Anyama and Kennedy Muserero are likely to make the match day squad.

For Vipers, Denis Kiggundu is expected to stay in goal since Alfred Mudekereza is out injured while Usama Arafat is fit to face his former paymasters.
