Vipers SC maintained their unbeaten run on the pitch with a 1-1 stalemate with title rivals KCCA FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium on Wednesday.
KCCA took the lead through Ivan Ahimbisibwe who netted from the spot in the 35th minute.
Second half substitute Glodi Beyuku Munsi levelled matters for the Venoms with a late strike.
The Venoms had two goals cancelled for offside with Enock Ssebaggala and Odili Chukwuma all denied by assistant referee Hakim Mulindwa.
Ssebaggala thought he had given the visitors the lead but his goal was disallowed for offside in the 12th minute.
KCCA were awarded a penalty after Vipers defender Kevin Baddy Da Slyva had fouled Ahimbisibwe in the first period.
Ahimbisibwe stepped up to fire the home side into the lead and his 12th goal of the season. He is currently the top scorer in the league this term.
Towards the end of the first half Odili thought he had restored parity before being denied by the offside flag.
In the second period, both sides didn’t create enough scoring opportunities until Beyuku’s golden moment.
Beyuku leveled matters for the visitors in the final minute of regulation time with a finisher’s goal to earn a point for Vipers who are still unbeaten on the pitch this term.
Their only defeat was in the boardroom against their Uganda Cup semifinal opponents Kitara FC. Vipers are top of the table with 59 points, while KCCA is second with 52 points.
