Joint record National boys football champions St.Mary’s Boarding Secondary School Kitende settled for a 1-1 draw with debutants Bukedea Comprehensive Secondary School North in the group P contest.

Kitende one of the favourites for this year’s championship will be seeking to end a rare title drought in Lira.

During the opener, Bukedea Comprehensive took the lead through Uthman Kaaya’s first half strike.

Denis Kisiriko restored parity for the 11-time national champions in the second period of the contest.

By full-time whistle, a stalemate was enough for the two sides who next return to action on Tuesday.

Kitende will look to make amends against Kampala Zone champions Lubiri Secondary School while Bukedea Comprehensive North will battle Seroma Christian High School.
