Calvary FC and Buhimba United Saints have been relegated from the Uganda Premier League after failing to maximize points against UPDF FC and Mbarara City respectively.
Both sides needed to win their games to keep their survival hopes alive heading into the final game of the season.
Calvary played out to a goalless draw away to UPDF in Bombo, a result that secured safety for three Army side.
Buhimba United Saints who failed to honour their league fixture against NEC FC last week lost 2-0 to Mbarara City, a result that confirmed their relegation.
They are also still waiting for FUFA’s verdict in regards to the NEC FC.
Against the Ankole Lions, Buhimba arrived late and only had a team of 13 players in the game played at Rwamwanja Stadium.
Calvary is currently on 18 points, four behind 14th-placed UPDF, who have 22 points with one match left to play. Buhimba is bottom placed with 16 points.
Meanwhile, four teams will attain Uganda Premier League status with Kigezi Homeboyz and Blacks Power already securing slots in next season’s topflight.
