Kitara FC will be featuring in their second Stanbic Uganda Cup Final in three years when they take on nine time winners SC Villa at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru on Saturday.

Kitara winners in 2024 under Brian Ssenyondo are aiming for another success during Wasswa Bbosa’s reign. Solomon Okwalinga netted their winner against NEC in the 2024 final at Wankulukuku.

Kitara opened their 2026 Uganda Cup campaign with a narrow win over Obule Earthquake with Bosco Byaruhanga scoring the sole goal at the round of 64.

Emmanuel Wasswa and George Ssenkaaba goals saw Kitara eliminate Entebbe UPPC 2-0 at the round of 32 stage before the Royals thrashed Bunyaruguru 6-0 thanks to goals from Gaddafi Wahab, Jimmy Kalema, Benjamin Nyakoojo, George Ssenkaaba, Kabon Living and Kato Samuel.

In the quarterfinals, Kitara humbled joint record competition winners Express 3-0 thanks to a brace from Ssenkaaba and Emmanuel Wasswa.

Kitara needed away goals rule to advance to the final after playing out to a goalless stalemate at Butema before a 1-1 draw away to Vipers. Gaddafi Wahab scored their goal at Kitende with Abdul Karim Watambala netting for the Venoms which is the only goal conceded by the Royals in this year’s competition so far.
