SC Villa is looking to secure Charles Lwanga’s future amid interest from other Uganda Premier League clubs, Swift Sports Uganda can reliably confirm.
Villa has already started renewal talks with the out of contract forward Lwanga. This website has established that the club hierarchy has already began planning for the future with one of the absolute priority is extending Lwanga’s stay.
The Jogoos have already opened negotiations with the forward over extending his contract following expiration of his previous deal.
However, the interest remains very real. Several Uganda Premier League clubs, continue monitoring Lwanga’ situation closely.
Despite having limited playing time in the just concluded season, Lwanga was Villa’s third highest scorer in the league with six goals only behind Frank Ssebuufu (9) and Najib Yiga(7) scoring more than him.
Lwanga has previously featured for KCCA and returned to SC Villa at the start of the 2023/24 season and helped the side end its 20-year title drought in that particular season. In fact he scored against NEC FC, a game that handed the Jogoos their 17th league title on the final day.
In 2024/25 season, he was SC Villa’s top scorer in the league with 11 goals while the club’s starman Patrick Jonah Kakande managed eight goals for the club.
