Record Buganda Masaza Cup champions Gomba have on Saturday received Catholic Church blessing at Bukalagi Parish ahead of their 2026 tournament.
The record competition winners will on Sunday, 7th June unveil their team for the 2026 Masaza Cup championship.
Gomba Management team committee led by the chairperson Jane Namatovu who also serves as the Director of Kayabwe Pharmacy (cies) and Kayabwe Institute of Health Sciences in Kanoni along with team manager Resty Namugema Mbatidde were in attendance at the mass where Fr.Kiganda was the main celebrant.
Gomba under the stewardship of last year’s winning coach Felix Ssekabuuza and his assistant Davis Nnono will be seeking a record extending sixth triumph.
They have previously won the competition in 2004, 2009, 2014, 2017 and 2020. Gomba is in group of death (Masengere) that has Kyaggwe, Busiro, Bulemeezi, Ssese and Mawokota.
Buweekula are the reigning competition winners following their triumph over Ssingo last year at Nakivubo Stadium.
