The 2025/26 FUFA Big League season officially climaxed on Saturday with several games across various playgrounds.
Mbale based Kataka FC were the big winners after gaining topflight status following their 2-0 win away to Soltilo Bright Stars at the Coffee stadium in Bugolobi.
Ali Ssentamu and Usama Khayemba scored in either half as Kataka sealed the final slot of Uganda Premier League football next season.
Kataka managed by coach Godfrey Awachango alias Toldo needed maximum points in their final fixture to confirm top-tier football.
With 18 teams set to compete on the table of men next season, Kataka becomes the fourth club to secure UPL football joining Kigezi Home Boyz, Blacks Power and Ntugasaze.
Three former UPL sides Mbale Heroes, Soltilo Bright Stars and Wakiso Giants were relegated with Nebbi Central joining them.
Young Elephant Academy thrashed Wakiso Giants 4-0 on the final day while Nebbi suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat over Paidha Black Angels. Mbale Heroes ended their campaign with a 6-2 defeat to Iganga United.
Meanwhile, Blacks Power from Lira City clinched the 2025/26 Big League title after a goalless draw against Onduparaka at the AbaBet GreenLight Stadium in Anyiivu, Arua, West Nile region.
