Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Joseph Put has named a squad that will lock horns with Zanzibar in a friendly game.
The Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF) invited the Uganda Cranes to take part in the federation’s centenary celebrations.
Uganda Cranes will face Zanzibar’s national team in a commemorative international match scheduled for Thursday, 11th June 2026 at the newly constructed Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar. Kick-off is set for 8:15pm East Africa Time.
Put named a 22-man squad that has locally based players with Kenneth Semakula who is unattached included in the squad.
The team will begin preparations on Monday, 8th June 2026 with a training session at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
Uganda was slated to face Tanzania and Madagascar in friendly matches that were to be played this month in Morocco but were called off due to Ebola.
