Four key players set for KCCA FC Departure

Uganda Premier League entity KCCA FC is expected to part ways with four players in this transfer window following expiration of their contracts, Swift Sports Uganda understands.

Gavin Kizito Mugweri, Derrick Nsibambi, Joel Sserunjogi and Hassan Mahmood are all out of contract at the 13-time league champions.

Defender Gavin Kizito joined KCCA FC at the start of the 2024/25 season on a two year deal which expired at the end of the just concluded season.

Gavin can operate as a central defender as well as a right back has previously featured for SC Villa where he won the 2023/24 League title and also played for Egyptian ide Alitthad.

At Villa he fell out of the club administration months after helping the Jogoos to their 17th record extending title.

He also captained Uganda U-20 men’s national team to the final against Ghana in 2021 that was held in Mauritania.

Nsibambi returned to the Kasasiro Boys on a two year deal at the start of the 2024/25 season. His current deal at the club expires this month.

He has previously played for Smouha of Egypt, Sebeta FC in Ethiopia, Al-Bashaeer in Oman, Bandali of Kenya and URA FC in Uganda.

Sserunjogi a former Kajjansi United player is also out of contract at the Kasasiro boys and is not expected to extend his stay at KCCA FC.

Eight time Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have reportedly agreed terms with the midfielder despite interest from Tanzania giants Simba.

Defender Hassan Mahmood joined KCCA in July 2024 on a two year deal after stints at Geita Gold FC, Mbeya City FC, Police FC and Onduparaka FC among others. His current deal expires this month and it remains to be seen whether the hierarchy at KCCA FC will extend his stay.

KCCA FC finished second of the Uganda Premier league log last term with 62 points they collected in 30 games as the Vipers claimed their eighth league title.
