Lugazi FC are in advanced talks with former URA FC assistant coach Bastu Ssemuyaba, Swift Sports Uganda understands.
This website has established that Lugazi wants to boost their coaching staff with the appointment of Ssemuyaba to serve as Abbey Kikomeko’s assistant for the forthcoming 2026/27 season.
Kikomeko, formely at BUL replaced Simon Peter Mugerwa at Lugazi.
Ssemuyaba has been serving as Hussein Mbalangu’s assistant at URA FC but left the club following expiration of his employment contract.
The CAF B licensed tactician has both the FUFA Big League and Uganda Premier League experience.
He has previously served as head coach at Kiyinda Boys, Kaaro Karungi, first assistant at NEC during the second division days and assistant at the same club during the Uganda Premier League.
He was also assistant coach to Charles Livingstone Mbabazi at Mbarara City and also head coach for Buganda region province team in 2024.
Ssemuyaba also led Ssingo Ssaza team to the final of the prestigious Buganda Masaza Cup last year, losing 1-0 to Buweekula at Nakivubo Stadium.
