Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have appointed French tactician Denis Lavagne as their new Head Coach.
The French tactician joins the Venoms on a two-year contract replacing Belgian Ivan Jacky Minnaert.
Minnaert left the club by mutual consent after guiding the club to their eighth league title.
Lavagne has spent three decades across Europe, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East, having coached clubs and National teams at the highest level of African football.
The Frenchman will be assisted by John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda while the performance specialist Belgian Salmi Yassine.

Lavagne is an experienced coach who has previously managed at Béziers Deveze, Sedan B,Coton Sport, Cameroon, Étoile du Sahel, Al Ittihad Alexandria, Najran, Smouha, MAS Fez, Free State Stars, Al-Hilal, CS Constantine,JS Kabylie, USM Alger, Azam, Al-Jabalain, Al-Bukiryah.
He becomes the tenth foreign coach at Vipers, the others are Nigerian Ambrose Duru Chukuma, Kenyan Michael Nam Ouma, Mexican Javier Martinez Espinosa, Brazilian Leonard Martins Neiva,Brazilian-Spaniard Roberto Luiz Bianchi Pelliste, Serbian Nikola Kavazovic, Ivan Jacky Minnaert, Miguel Da Costa and Robertinho Oliveira.
Vipers SC league winning coaches are Edward Golola (2), Miguel Da Costa (1), Robertinho Oliveira (1), Fred Kajoba (RIP) (1), Alex Isabirye Isabirye (1) and Co-coaches John Ayala Luyinda and Fred Muhumuza and Jacky Minnaert (1).
