Zakho’s move for KCCA striker Ahimbisibwe set to collapse

Zakho SC’s move to sign KCCA FC forward Ivan Ahimbisibwe is set to collapse, Swift Sports Uganda understands.

On Tuesday, Zakho SC released an image revealing that they had secured Ahimbisibwe’s signature on a two year deal but the latest indicates that they had not agreement with KCCA FC despite reportedly agreeing personal terms with the player.

Zakho Sport Club is an Iraqi professional sports club based in Zakho, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. The club was founded 39 years ago and host their games at a 20000 seater Zakho International Stadium.

Zakho finished ninth on the Iraq Stars League table standings last season with 53 points they garnered in 38 games.

Ahimbisibwe had agreed terms with the Iraqi side but sources have are now confirming that the deal is off.

He finished as the top scorer in the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League with 14 goals.

A season before he netted 16 goals when he was featuring for URA FC, finishing just three goals behind the 2024/25 golden boot winner, Allan Okello.

Ahimbisibwe began his career at Synergy before moving to Nyamityobora and later transferred to UPDF and then URA. Tanzania Premier League side Azam FC are also interested in Ahimbisibwe’s signature.
