Three time Buganda Masaza Cup champions Bulemeezi have officially announced the departure of Leo Ssekamatte and also confirmed their new head coach.
As earlier reported by this website, Bulemeezi part ways with Ssekamatte following their 1-0 home defeat to Mawokota on Sunday.
His assistants Anthony Bongole and Nasib Mukasa have also been relieved of their duties along with goalkeepers coach Bukenya Grace.
David Mutono Katono who led Kyaggwe to their first ever Masaza Cup final in 2024 will now take over at Bulemeezi.
“The appointment comes after a decision by the club committee to part ways with Sekamatte Leo , following a review of the technical direction of the team.The entire Bulemeezi family extends its sincere appreciation to Coach Leo Sekamatte for his service , committement , and the time we shared together. We thank him for his contribution to the club and wish him success in his future as our son of the soil . His first game in charge will be against his former paymasters Kyaggwe at Bishops Stadium in Mukono on Sunday.
Bulemeezi drew 1-1 in their first game away to Ssese, they are in Masengere Group that also has record winners Gomba, Mawokota, Busiro and Kyaggwe.
Bulemeezi did not go past the group stages in the previous edition and will be searching for their fourth championship, they won it in 2023, 2019 and 2012.
