Stanbic Uganda Cup champions Kitara FC are close to agreeing a deal for former BUL FC midfielder Jeromy Kirya, Swift Sports Uganda understands.

Talks are in the final stages over a deal for Kirya who is currently a free agent and a full agreement for the midfielder could be reached soon.

Kirya was among the ten players released by BUL FC last month and had looked destined for NEC FC but Kitara are believed to be offering a better deal.

Kitara want to beef up their squad ahead of their busy schedule that will involve participation in CAF Confederation Cup next season.

For the past two years, eight time UPL champions Vipers have been admiring Kirya’s signature but the interest has cooled down and is unlikely to cross to Kitende.

Kirya joined BUL FC from Busoga United in 2021 and has been one of the outstanding performers for the Jinja based side.
