Vipers SC have confirmed the signing of Congolese right-back Jacques Mangoba Iyadi on a two year contract.

Mangoba has been acquired from Congolese side AS Simba Kamikaze, and becomes the second player to be signed from the Kolwezi side after Bady Dasylva who was signed last year.

Mangoba who can ably play both in the right back and the center back position, becomes the club’s second unveiling in the ongoing transfer window after Joel Sserunjogi.

He is expected to take over the club’s first choice right back position which was comfortably held by Ashraf Mandela last season.

Mangoba is a former DR Congo U23 national team player who has also previously played for AS Vita in his native country as well as Desportivo Sagrada Esperança in Angola.

He brings with him continental experience having previously played in both the CAF Confederation Cup and the CAF Champions League with the aforementioned clubs.

He joins his Democratic Republic of Congo natives at Vipers who are Kevin Daslyva, Alfred Mudekereza and Glodi Beyuku Munsi.

Under the tutelage of Frenchman Denis Lavagne, Vipers will be aiming for an improved campaign in the CAF Champions League next season.

The Venoms will also represent Uganda in this year’s CECAFA Kagame Cup to be held in Rwanda later this month.
