SC Villa assistant captain Diego Misi Ssemugera has completed a move to Stanbic Uganda Cup champions Kitara FC, Swift Sports Understands.
Ssemugera joins the Hoima based side on a two year employment contract as a free agent following expiration of his contract at SC Villa.
He joined the 17-time Uganda Premier league champions at the start of the 2023/24 season from Police FC on a three year employment contract which expired at the end of last season.
Ssemugera leaves SC Villa as league champion having won the 2023/24 title which ended the club’s 20-year title drought.
Ssemugera has previously featured for Lugazi Municipal, Lugazi Friends FC, Mayinde Spartans and Police FC.
He becomes the third player to leave SC Villa after Hassan Mubiru who joined Tanzania’s Azam FC and Elvis Ngonde currently at KCCA FC. Charles Lwanga already made a decision not to extend his stay at the record league winners.
Kitara will have a busy 2026/27 campaign that will see them feature in the CAF Confederation Cup as well as the domestic competitions.
