The Mustafa Kizza foundation has organised a coach Mike Mutebi charity match slated for Thursday 9th July 2026 at MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo in Kampala.
According to the organisers, Friends of Mustafa Kizza will face off with Kenyan legendary brother Victor Wanyama and McDonald Mariga Wanyama select.

The two sides earlier this month faced off in the first leg that was held in Nairobi City with Kizza’s select winning 2-1.
Before the main match, Salim Katumba friends will face Tik-Tokers at 4 PM.
Kizza called upon the football fraternity in Uganda to embrace the event that will see proceeds go to the family of his former coach at KCCA FC Mike Mutebi.
“We are excited to be hosting a charity match between Mustafa Kizza and friends against the Wanyama’s as we honor our coach Mike Mutebi. He (coach Mubiru) was a father to us and groomed us and made changed our lives. I am humbled by KCCA Football Club for the support given to us thus far. Our other friends from the media, Salim Katumba and friends and the Tik Tokers are also appreciated. We call upon the masses to come in big numbers.” Said Kizza

Allan Okello fresh from guiding Young Africans to the league title revealed that they had to do something great for their football father.
Coach Mike Mutebi to me was a mentor. He was my guardian and guided me in many decisions. He remains dear to me. When I heard of his news that he was ill, I said to myself that I needed to do something special. The charity match is part of the many things. Noted Okello

It should be remembered that coach Mutebi handed both players their debuts at KCCA FC before going out to turn out for Uganda Cranes as well as moving boards.
McDonald Mariga is former Kenyan international and previously featured for Inter Milan in Italy, Helsingborgs IF, Parma and Real Sociedad. He currently serves as the Vice President for Football Kenya Federation.
Wanyama turned out for Helsingborg, Celtic, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur, CF Montreal and Dunfermline Athletic.
