KCCA FC have beefed up their squad with the signing of experienced defender Maxwell Owachgiu.

He joins the 13-time Uganda Premier league champions on a two-year employment contract.

“Joining KCCA FC is a huge step in my career, and it is an honor to wear this shirt. I have played against this club many times, and I know the standards of excellence the fans demand. Reuniting with some players I have played with before, as well as Coach Brian, is fantastic. I am here to work hard, defend the badge, and win with my mates.” Said Owachgiu

He has previously featured for Kitara FC, whom he captained the Uganda Cup trophy in 2024 and played in the CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers in the 2024/25 season.

Last term, he played for Buhimba United Saints FC and his move to Lugogo sees him reunite with KCCA FC Head Coach Brian Ssenyondo, whom he worked with at Kitara.

He becomes the club’s third signing in this transfer window following the arrival of Charles Lwanga and Elivis Ngonde.
