Eight time Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC are interested in signing Gabon International goalkeeper Loyce Marius Mbaba.
According to Kawowo Sports the Venoms are scrambling for Mbaba’s signature with Tanzania’s Simba.
Vipers is in the market for an experienced goalkeeper following the departure of Alfred Mudekereza after spending four seasons at the club.
Bashir Ssekagya also left the club with Dennis Kiggundu and Jack Komakech remaining at the club.
Mbaba currently features for Ivorian side Stella Club d’Ajame and also made the Gabon squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations that was held in Morocco earlier this year.
The custodian has 30 caps with the Gabon national team and could become the second Gabonese player to play in the Uganda Premier League after KCCA’s Axel Mezui.
Vipers are preparing for the Kagame Cup and a busy 2026/27 season that will involve CAF Champions League football.
They have already added Joel Sserunjogi, Nicholas Mwere and DR Congo right back Jacques Mangoba to their roster.
