Uganda Premier League side Express FC have completed the signing of left back Shafik Batambuze on a two year contract.
Batambuze joins the Red Eagles from Kenya Premier League side Kakamega Homeboyz.
He returns the UPL after 13 years having had multiple spells in Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia.
Batambuze played for Gor Mahia, Tusker FC, Western Stima, Muhoroni Youth and Kakamega Homeboyz in Kenya.
He featured for Fountain Gate, Singida Black Stars, Singida United in Tanzania and Kabwe Warriors in Zambia.
The lanky left back is expected to be a massive addition to the Express FC side in the upcoming season as he comes with loads of experience.
Batambuze is known for his quality crossing and set piece conversion which further underlines how important he is expected to be for the Red Eagles.
The Red Eagles under the stewardship of Morley Byekwaso are expected to bring in a number of new players to replace an equal number on the exit door.
Byekwaso is also expected to have a blend of the experienced and new blood in his squad to compete favourably in the new season.
