Blacks Power FC have completed the signing of defender Julius Ocen from relegated side Calvary FC, Swift Sports understands.
Ocen, nicknamed Akanji, was a key figure for Calvary as they gained promotion to the Uganda Premier League during the 2024/25 season.
Last season, Ocen was a mainstay in the team’s selection as he played 22 games, clocking a total of 1,861 minutes of play.
Ocen has had a gradual rise having found limelight in 2020 with Team Church FC, a Katakwi based side he captained to the North Eastern Regional League playoffs at Njeru.
He moved to Soroti City FC (Light SSS FC) in 2022 before switching to Calvary at the start of the 2023/24 season.
Ocen becomes the latest signing of Blacks Power who have already signed right back Frank Kasumba and left-back Rashid Okocha.
Kasumba has been a free agent from Kitara FC while Okocha returns to the UPL after one season in South Sudan with Jamus SC.
Blacks Power will be under the tutelage of coach Simon Peter Mugerwa who was appointed to fill Michael Skillz Lukyamuzi’s void.
