Hoima City Stadium to host Kitara and Mogadishu City CAF Confederation Cup Games

Kitara FC has confirmed that both legs of their 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round tie against Somalia’s Mogadishu City FC will be played at Hoima City Stadium.
Following last week’s draw, Mogadishu City were initially handed home advantage for the first leg. However, with Somalia currently having no CAF-approved stadium, the Somali side has opted to stage their “home” fixture in Uganda.
That means Hoima City Stadium the ground Kitara registered with CAF as their official home venue for this season’s campaign will host both matches.
Mogadishu will host the first Leg on Saturday, 5th September 2026 with the Second Leg scheduled for Saturday, 12th September 2026, both games kicking off at 4:00pm.
The winner on aggregate will progress to the second preliminary round to face North African giants Al Ahly FC of Egypt.
According Kitara FC tickets go on sale Monday, 17th August 2026 and fans can buy through Online* via Kitara FC platforms and In person at Kitara FC offices in Hoima Town and Kinubi.
Ordinary tickets are for shs UGX 20,000 while VIP are for UGX 50,000
Playing both legs at Hoima gives the Uganda Cup champions a massive boost. The Royals will be hoping to use familiar turf and home support to see off Mogadishu City before the daunting task against Al Ahly FC in the second preliminary round.
This will be Kitara’s second appearance in continental competition, and the club is banking on the Hoima crowd to push them into the next round.
