Former NEC FC defender Patrick Bayiga has completed a return to Maroons FC, Swift Sports Uganda understands.
Bayiga reunites with Maroons as a free agent following expiration of his contract at another Uganda Premier League entity NEC FC.
At the start of the 2024/25 season, Bayiga left the Luzira based side for NEC on a two year deal which came to an end at the climax of last term.
Express FC and KCCA FC were both interested in Bayiga’s signature but the player has decided to make a return to Luzira.
Before his move to NEC FC, Bayiga had spent five seasons at Maroons FC having joined them at the start of the 2018/19 season.
With several upgrades being done on their Luzira grounds, Maroons FC will host their league games at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
They will entertain Jimmy Kintu Mwera’s new look URA FC on Sunday, 30th August in their first game of the 2026/27 league campaign.
Last season, Maroons finished eighth on the table standings with 38 points they garnered and will be aiming for an impressive 2026/27 season.
