Kataka FC have bolstered their squad ahead of their debut topflight season with the signing of their former captain Francis Odongo on a two year contract.
Odongo returns to Kataka FC after spending three seasons at Uganda Premier League side Mbarara City.
The workaholic dreadlocked midfielder captained Kataka FC for two seasons before joining Mbarara City in July 2023.
His homecoming is expected to add experience, leadership, confidence and resilience in the club’s squad ahead of the season kick-off.
Odongo has already hit the ground running as he has been involved in Kataka’s pre-season engagements during the Mbale Super 8 Tournament.
The club is set to appoint Robert Mukasa ‘Kiyenje’ as their new head coach as earlier hinted by this website.
Kataka will start their season with an away fixture against UPDF FC at Hamz Stadium Nakivubo on Saturday 29th August.
The Mbale based club will host league games at Bukedea Comprehensive Sports Complex as Mbale City Stadium didn’t meet the required licensing standards on time.
