KCCA FC head coach Brian Ssenyondo has spoken out ahead of tomorrow’s blockbuster Kampala derby against Express FC at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo.
The Kasasiro Boys go into the game wounded after suffering a 2-0 defeat against rivals NEC FC in their league opener last weekend at Lugogo, and Ssenyondo hopes his side will learn from that setback.
What Ssenyondo Said,
“We have to bounce back tomorrow, we don’t have any other option. We have to go there and win the game. We know what we need tomorrow and we need to do our best.”
“Sometimes it’s two things – the result and performance. When you have a guaranteed performance, it guarantees you future results and sometimes you can get a result and it’s not convincing. We were disappointed in the last game but first we need to ask ourselves: do we want to be a successful team, do we want to go on and win things here, do we want to dominate games?
“ If you want to be a successful team, do you get setbacks? Yes, definitely you will get setbacks. Do you rely on setbacks? No. Do you focus on the comeback? Yes. And do you learn from it? Yes. The setback we got last week has informed us on how we have to move forward.”
“A team like KCCA doesn’t have home or away, every game is equally the same and important. Whether home or away we are expected to present ourselves in the best way and win games.”
KCCA FC will be taking on a side mananged by their former head coach Morley Byekwaso who are also desperate for maximum points following a 1-0 defeat against BUL FC.
In fact in the defeat at BUL, Byekwaso became the sixth coach in Ugandan football history to coach all the three VEK (SC Villa, Express FC and KCCA FC) clubs
He joined the historical list that consists of Asuman Lubowa, Sam Ssimbwa, Polly Ouma, David Otti and Moses Basena.
