Vipers SC cruised to their first win of the season with a 3-0 victory over league debutants Ntugasaze FC at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, on Saturday.
The Venoms, who lost their league opener to Entebbe UPPC last month, needed to maximize points on their return to the league campaign following a disappointing exit in the CAF Champions League.
Gusto Mulongo, Chukwuma Odili and Ceaser Manzoki scored the three goals for Denis Lavagne’s side under the lights of Kitende.
Mulongo gave the home side the lead in the 27th minute, heading home a perfect Abdul Karim Watambala corner.
The visitors also had decent chances to score but didn’t make use of them.
At the hour mark, Chukwuma doubled Vipers’ advantage before Manzoki sealed the points three minutes later to move the Kitende-based side off the bottom of the table.
Vipers are now in 11th position with three points while Ntugasaze are bottom. Action in the league will resume after the international break.
